Move Over Conference Room, It's Time To Huddle There's a new collaboration room in town and it loves to huddle. Spontaneous and informal, this new teaming space has become extremely popular in educational offices and corporate America. Designed to encourage teamwork and creativity amongst coworkers, a huddle space is transformed by technology, hosting several screens, interactive white boards and displays. But the impromptu nature of the huddle room still requires some technology planning for effective implementation. Key to the collaborative nature of the huddle room is the ability to quickly share content from individual tablets, laptops and smart phones. Crestron AirMedia™ fills this criteria in a seamless, no-hassle, wireless technology. AirMedia™ allows collabora- tors to bring their own device and share documents, photos and video. With a quick click of a button content on the interactive display can switch from Sue's laptop to Joe's tablet or split the screen and display content from four different sources in the room. Sharing made easy. Sharp Aquos Board™ is an interactive display system available in screens up to an impressive 80" class. Versatility and touch- screen convenience make this display ideal for a wide array of collaborative efforts from videoconferences to training and workflow sharing. Documents can be easily imported into the interactive display system, annotated and then saved to a computer, emailed or printed. The accompanying Sharp Pen Software™ provides a new dimension of interactive control and plays well with Windows ® and Mac ® . Crestron Connect It™ is a 4" round cub- byhole that neatly houses four cables in its recessed storage compartment: HDMI, VGA, audio and Ethernet. The cables are weighted so they easily retract when disconnected. With a Crestron Connect It™ available at every seat, collaboration is easy and free- flowing with a simple press of the soft-touch buttons. When the meeting has ended all cables neatly retract and the space is now ready for the next huddle. When considering the implementation of a huddle space, it is important to also consider the furniture that will support and enhance the technology. Spectrum Furniture, Inc. out of Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin has embraced the collaboration room concept and created a line of furniture designed specifically for that application. Their line of collaboration furniture has unique features that neatly house the technology typically found in huddle spaces.
