Aſter all, what kind of site could handle more than 700 people for refreshments, entertainment and presentations? Miller Park in Milwaukee fit the bill. "We worked with local Thrivent folks out of Madison and Milwaukee, and they picked Miller Park," says Cathy Quillin, communications program manager. "We thought it would be a fun venue to have our meeting. " At Miller Park, the planning committee bundled product exhibits, community service and company updates into one busy day. True to the company's mission of living generously, they packed and shipped boxes of school supplies to orphans in Haiti. The event also included exhibits, food and pictures with Brewers mascots, Quillin says. When senior leaders from Thrivent addressed the crowd, above, energy was high. The membership-owned financial service organization, based in Appleton and Minneapolis, with 2.5 million members, hosts events across the country through more than 1,300 local chapters. Perhaps not surprisingly, Thrivent Financial for Lutherans is the largest fraternal benefit society in the nation. –By Laurel McKenzie www.insightonbusiness .com
