Swim with the sharks Take the Guesswork Out of Your Budget Second Chance Partners for Education is offering the Summer Product Launch Project. Based on the concept of the TV show Shark Tank, students will work in teams to develop a new product. The product they research and launch must fit into one of the following categories: household, recreation, work-based or emergency-based. Examples of products students have launched include a rotating deer stand, ice melting spray, safe guard for saw and portable coffee maker. At the end of the summer, they present their product plan to a panel of CEOs who have an imaginary $1 million each to invest in the product(s) they consider investment worthy. The project runs June through August 2013, with final presentations at Plexus-Appleton 1 on Aug. 29. Resources, support and sponsors are needed. For more information, contact Brooke Konopacki, program coordinator, at (920) 456-9870 or at bkonopacki@scpfe.org. Since 2011, our actual project costs have been within 2% of the original estimates. whose home school is East High School in Appleton.
