Leavitt became the 11th chancellor of the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh Nov. 1. As vice president for university advancement at the University of North Georgia, he successfully led fundraising operations for two universities and completed a $44 million capital campaign. He led a strategic planning process and chaired a university committee developing ways to make higher education both accessible and affordable. Additionally, he merged two philanthropic foundations into a single foundation with more than $55 million in assets. Outside the university, Leavitt is active in the arts and health care. He is also is an avid amateur musician, playing the saxophone in a variety of university jazz and classical ensembles. Scott Murphy will succeed Darwin Copeman as president and CEO of Jewelers Mutual Insurance Company in Neenah. Copeman, who has served as president and CEO of Jewelers Mutual since 2009, will retire in 2015. Murphy was formerly an executive partner and principal in the insurance industry consulting group Triad Analytic Solutions and chief operating officer at GMAC Insurance in North Carolina. Murphy will begin his new role in January. Rose Kilsdonk, digital marketing specialist at Fox Valley Technical College, received the Rising Star award from the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations. FVTC named Aaron Tomlinson dean of the college's Public Safety division. Tomlinson will oversee academic programs and specialized training related to FVTC's public safety offerings, including the new 75-acre Public Safety Training Center at the Outagamie County Regional Airport, as well as services delivered through the college's National Criminal Justice Training Center. Faith Technologies in Menasha promoted Greg Vanevenhoven to vice president of preconstruction-industrial. Vanevenhoven joined Faith Technologies in 2010. Mike Schmaling, operating manager for Faith Technologies, was recognized with the 2014 Air Force Association George W. Bush Award during the AFA's 2014 Air & Space Conference and Technology Exposition. Breakthrough Fuel in Green Bay promoted Andrew Kundinger to director-decision support. Kundinger joined Breakthrough Fuel in 2013 and previously served as senior manager for analysis. James E. Feiertag joined Bemis Manufacturing Co. in Sheboygan Falls as president and CEO. Feiertag assumes the role held by Richard A. Bemis, interim CEO since October 2013 following the death of Peter F. Bemis. Feiertag comes from Racine-based Twin Disc Inc., where he served as executive vice president with responsibility for European/Asian operations and global sourcing. Kohler Co.'s Power Group promoted Brian Melka to president of its engines division- Americas. Melka joined Kohler in 2013 as vice president. Previously, he served as vice president-global mining and product management at Rexnord Corp. of Milwaukee. School Specialty, Inc. in Greenville appointed Ryan M. Bohr as executive vice president and chief financial officer. Bohr replaces Kevin Baehler, who has served as interim CFO since January. Baehler will remain with the company as senior vice president and chief accounting officer. Bohr is a senior executive with 20 years of operations and finance leadership experience, primarily within private equity- owned businesses.
