Since the gi is a dollar-for-dollar match, the end result will be a new $50 million endowment to support scholarships. e record-setting gi comes on the heels of other positive financial news for Lawrence: A record $3.7 million raised for the Lawrence Fund; a $2.5 million gi to expand its current teacher education program to include elementary teacher education certification; a $2.1 million grant from the U.S. Department of Education's Title III SIP program for a comprehensive program designed to increase the graduation rate of at- risk students; and a $150,000 Career Ready Internship grant from e Great Lakes Higher Education Guaranty Corp. for the 2014-2015 academic year that will support an estimated 51 paid internships for juniors and seniors who qualify for need-based financial aid. U.S. News & World Report ranked Lawrence as Wisconsin's highest-ranked liberal arts college among eight state institutions in its 2015 "Best Colleges" rankings. Lawrence ranked 59th among 236 national liberal arts colleges and universities in the annual guide. Fox Valley Technical College's most recent annual Graduate Employment Research Report cites a record 38 academic programs with 100 percent job placement for graduates of the college within six months of graduation. e college's overall graduate placement rate remains strong at 89 percent. e report data comes from surveys of graduates each year six months aer graduation and connects with graduates from five years ago to examine additional placement rates, salary data and more. e most recent report that cites the record number of programs represents technical diploma and associate degrees at FVTC. FVTC's new Student Success Center should help maintain those high placement rates. e $6 million building was part of the referendum approved by voters in 2012. e building is designed for better interaction with students and teachers and includes new tutoring departments, expanded library space and study rooms. e National Cancer Institute awarded a $12.5 million grant to Marshfield Clinic Research Foundation, Gundersen Medical GOT DREAMS?
