R.A. Smith National, Inc., a multi-disciplined civil engineering and surveying firm based in Brookfield with offices in Appleton, expanded its structural services division by purchasing selected assets of Arnold & O'Sheridan, Inc. from a secured lender. Expanded services include structural design of facilities and parking structures in health care, higher education, justice and security, corporate, commercial and civic markets. R.A. Smith also hired 11 employees from A&O's Structural Group. Dumper Dan's, 676 South Pier Dr., Sheboygan, celebrated the grand opening of its new riverfront lodging Aug. 28. In addition to charter fishing, Dumper Dan's offers customers lodging units near the six- boat fleet on Sheboygan's riverfront. The Great Lakes Logging and Heavy Equipment Expo, Oshkosh, received a $21,000 Joint Effort Marketing grant from the Department of Tourism. e largest forestry and equipment tradeshow in the Midwest, the event hosted more than 300 exhibitors, as well as 200 vendors, to display and promote the forestry, wood and construction industries. e expo had an estimated economic impact of $452,000. e Industrial Controls Company of Sussex designed and built custom Programmable Logic Control trainers for Fox Valley Technical College. e company was chosen for its product longevity and background in collaborating with educational institutions.
