F PLANT|nEWs FDL Firm stars on science channeL Fond du Lac-based Wells Vehicle Electronics, a manufacturer of parts for automotive, marine, off-highway and industrial sectors, showcased its manufacturing facility and process for an episode of "How It's Made." Wells opened the doors of its electronics plant in 2013 to a camera crew for the Science Channel show sent to capture each step in the production of automotive oil pressure sensors. The producers and film crew shot more than 14 hours of footage at the company's electronics facility and the final product is a four-minute segment that aired in May on a half- hour long episode of the TV series. "The 'How It's Made' segment captured product being assembled in Wells' state-of-the-art clean room and throughout our robotically controlled assembly lines, and showcases the technology implemented and precision executed in Wisconsin's manufacturing industry," says John Zochert, director of marketing and product management for Wells Vehicle Electronics.
