State Energy Office-issued assignment
to develop a comprehensive guidelines
report for natural gas vehicle
maintenance facilities.
The report sets a path for the
conversion of diesel truck maintenance
facilities to conform to CNG facility
building code requirements, which
were also set in the report. The new
CNG building code standard is
expected to increase support for the
use of CNG vehicles traveling the
state and make every diesel truck
maintenance facility able to house the
needs of CNG vehicles.
CNG conversion will allow the
state to lower fuel costs while reducing
fuel emissions and noise pollution,
all of which is expected to extend the
lifespans of state vehicles.
Currently, Wisconsin ranks third
in the nation for CNG fueling stations,
behind California and Utah.

Green Masters Launches
Dashboard Tool
The Wisconsin Sustainable Business
Council's Green Masters program has
created a dashboard tool to compare
sustainability results of the program's
participating businesses.
The four-year-old program, which
seeks to promote sustainability for
Wisconsin businesses, has almost
150 participating members. The
program measures the sustainability
efforts of businesses and ranks
them according to their progress
toward environmental neutrality.
In launching this dashboard, the
program now allows those businesses
to compare their rankings to those of
other businesses.
Participants are placed in one of
three categories depending on their
efforts and results. The categories
include: Green Apprentice, Green
Professional and Green Master.
