Fond du Lac County experiences job growth The Fond du Lac County Economic Development Corporation released a report in its November 2013 newsletter detailing recent economic trends for Fond du Lac County. In the report, the FCEDC states that it has created 2,832 new jobs, retained 1,950 jobs, and secured $464 million in new capital investments in the past seven years. These jobs have generated an estimated $2.2 billion in total economic output for the county and have resulted in $235 million in direct payroll, which in turn has garnered $179 million in retail sales for the region. Steve Jenkins, president of the FCEDC, says that demand for STEM-educated workers will remain steady. Despite the demand, Jenkins also says county manufacturers are expected to open jobs in the future. However, these jobs will yield a higher average pay for the workers. Fond du Lac County holds about 10,600 manufacturing jobs, with 1,700 in wholesale trade and 1,600 in transportation and warehousing.
