Secura Insurance in Appleton received a financial strength rating of A (excellent) from A.M. Best. The company also announced strong business results for 2012, growing its direct written premium by 7.9 percent. Secura also received a Platinum Well Workplace Award from the Wellness Council of America. The insurer is only the second company in Wisconsin to receive the award, which recognizes a commitment to the health and well-being of employees. The Jack & Ethel Keller family recently reached a new philanthropic milestone ��� $35 million in giving ��� with a $35,000 grant to the Fox Valley Literacy Council (FVLC). The $35,000 operational funding grant will assist the FVLC in addressing one of the root causes of poverty ��� access to appropriate educational opportunities. High Hopes Hair Salon recently opened inside the Martha Siekman Cancer Center at Appleton Medical Center. The salon offers cancer patients a private salon environment where a licensed cosmetologist provides services such as hair shaving; fittings for wigs, scarves and hats; information on scalp health and new hair growth; and the first haircut once the patient���s hair begins growing back in.
