MANUFACTURING FIRST ALL NEW TWO-DAY EVENT: OCTOBER 21-22 EARLY BIRD DEADLINE: AUGUST 31 MESSAGE FROM THE SHOW PREVIEW PAGE 2 FIRST BUSINESS PRESENTS MANUFACTURING FIRST 2015 MISSION OF MANUFACTURING FIRST - RECOGNIZING A NEED Gathering people to talk about their passion for manufacturing in Wisconsin was the genesis for the Manufacturing First Expo & Conference. We're pleased to host the fifth annual event this fall at the newly-expanded KI Convention Center in Green Bay. And now, since we've expanded the event over two days, it's really accelerating discussion as to what we can be doing as a community to make manufacturing better for all of us. It's about having people see the vision of where manufacturing can take us, and this program is the tool that can help get us there. IMPORTANCE OF MANUFACTURING IN OUR STATE Manufacturing is a vital component to Wisconsin's economy, with one out of four Northeast Wisconsin residents employed in the industry. It's the backbone of our economy and it's up to us to keep it strong. EXPANDED SCHEDULE For the first time, we've expanded the event to two days. This was in response to suggestions from attendees who want more time to focus on issues of particular concern to their industry or demographic. As a result, we will offer programming on the afternoon of Day 1 for the food and beverage industry, women in manufacturing, lean manufacturing, and exporting. Exhibitors will be setting up that day as usual. All who attend Day 1 will be invited to the 4:30 p.m. reception — and it's all included in the price of our two-day event. Day 2 — the main event — will feature an expo much bigger than ever before, along with our keynote, product highlights, lunch-and-learn sessions and more. MORE SKILLED WORKFORCE Our goal is to harness the passion so many of us have for manufacturing and provide a platform for people to share best practices, find ways to bridge the skills gap, and boost the image of manufacturing opportunities in our region.
