24 www.elkhartlake.com Northern Unit Special Interest The Northern Unit is comprised of nearly 30,000 acres. Of special interest are Dundee Mountain, Greenbush Kettle, Henry S. Reuss Ice Age Visitor Center, Jersey Flats Prairie, Watchable Wildlife Viewing Areas, Kettle Moraine Scenic Drive, Parnell Tower, Parnell Esker and Spruce Lake Bog. For details, visit www.dnr.wi.gov. Kettle Moraine Scenic Drive Visitors can enjoy the beauty, variety and geology of the Kettle Moraine State Forest here. Its northern end is near Elkhart Lake. Take County Road A from Elkhart Lake to Glenbeulah and follow the green "acorn" signs. There are numerous places to explore and enjoy the forest along the 31-mile drive. A handout of the scenic drive is available at all State Forest Offices or at http://dnr.wi.gov/topic/parks/kmscenicdrive.html DIRECTIONS: Take County Roads A&J from S. Lake Street, Elkhart Lake. Follow A to Glenbeulah. Continue on A toward Greenbush. Cross Hwy 23. Go straight on T (west) to Kettle Moraine Drive, parking lots and trail system.
