We produce labels and cash register rolls. What do you do there? I create (price) quotes for business, support sales reps with label-related questions and help customers come up with custom label solutions. What are the most interesting things about your job? Having the chance to interact with every level of the company from owners all the way to our entry-level employees. I especially enjoy helping find solutions for customers. It's a very fulfilling moment when you can come up with a solution for a customer that has searched day and night for a product that fits their needs. What kind of education or training do you have? What prepared you for this job? In high school, I became the teacher's assistant in screen and offset printing, which gave me a good knowledge base of how printing processes work. That sparked my interest into working in the printing field. When the opportunity arose at Heartland, I quickly jumped on board. What kind of technology do you use and interact with? I oversee the production of a wet wipe line and manage the 15 associates responsible for running it. What are the most interesting things about your job? I enjoy that every day has its own unique challenges and obstacles to overcome — this variability forces one to stay on top of their game. How did you decide on this career path? With my scientific background coming out of college, I started at Rockline in the chemical mix department. However, when a team lead position opened in production, I was up for the challenge. What kind of education or training do you have? What prepared you for this job? I have a Bachelor of Science degree in nuclear medicine from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. I would put Dale Carnegie classes at the top for having the biggest impact in developing me in the team lead position. What kind of technology do you use and interact with? Mechanical, computer and communication technology are all used daily.
