The 2015 winners included: • Buechel Stone Corporation of Chilton, which was founded in 1964 by Francis and Alyce Buechel, who converted their 125-acre farm into a working quarry. Their quarries now span more than 700 acres and produce more than 100 types of natural stone. • Faulks Brothers Construction, which has been in operation since 1946. Starting as a two-man operation by co-founders Syd and Oliver Faulks, the Faulks brothers began what is now one of Waupaca's largest employers. • Perfect Patterns has been a leader in precision tooling in the Waupaca and Fox Valley area for more than 60 years. Led by founder Scott Gauerke, Perfect Patterns operates in four locations with more than 160,000 square feet of modern manufacturing space and state-of-the art CNC machining. STUDENTS WIN SCHOLARSHIPS IN BUSINESS COMPETITION The Wisconsin JA Business Challenge Championship in Sheboygan brought out 57 high school competitors who had won regional business challenges. Students took on the role of C-suite executives to develop management strategies for a virtual company and product using the JA Titan web-based business simulation. The teams' business strategies included decisions on price, production, marketing, capital investment, research and development. The top performing teams earned $3,500 in scholarships for post- secondary education as well as other prizes, including gift cards for Kohl's department stores. The top two teams went to the JA Titan National Virtual Competition, April 30-May 13.
