An avid home brewer, it was a visit to Chicago in the early 1990s to see his sister where the idea of a career in beer began fermenting in his mind. It was during that trip Weycker visited the original Goose Island Brew Pub and began to wonder if Green Bay would support such an establishment. "ey were in this great old warehouse building with great atmosphere, with great food and really great beer," Weycker says. "My brother-in-law and I both said, 'this would be a really great concept to try in Green Bay.'" Turns out Northeast Wisconsin was more than ready.
