M A N U F A C T U R I N G A L L S T A R S 2 0 15 15 How does your company promote teamwork? It starts with our owner and president building the culture. They are in the production facility every day talking with employees, obtaining their input. Are there any negative perceptions about manufacturing careers? I think the perception is that manufacturing and industry is dirty, labor intensive and boring, but in reality, the growth of automation has replaced it with human skill and knowledge needed to plan, install and operate. This should be a peak time for technical colleges right now. degrees has provided me foundational knowledge that allowed me to be a better problem- solver and effective leader. Are there any misconceptions about manufacturing careers? Manufacturing often has a perception that it is very labor intensive, has poor working conditions, is boring and requires minimal skills. This is far from accurate. Manufacturing needs leaders who have the technical and leadership skills to be able to work as a team and troubleshoot high-tech equipment. Successful employees working in manufacturing are technicians who are economic thinkers and act like principled entrepreneurs. A to Z Machine Co.
