On the move Our Well Said educational program provides employers free learning opportunities for their employees. The classes are held at the business worksite and led by Prevea Health physicians. Customizable onsite fitness and nutrition presentations are also available to help teach the life skills needed to live well. Wellness competitions make improving personal fitness fun. Through a partnership with myInertia™ , LeadWell now offers automated wellness tracking for competitions. This system has the ability to track steps, distance, motion, calories and even weight. All data is loaded realtime to your personal computer. All together, services like these can help initiate a cultural change that engages people in wellness and makes healthy living a more natural component of daily lives. “People now have access to everything they need to succeed,” said Thomas. “And they also have the comfort of knowing that we’re still with them.” The proximity of the new health center to the fitness club will make it possible for physicians to “prescribe fitness” as a means to preventing and treating chronic disease. “We’re working to refocus an entire community,” said Dr. Rai. “It’s going to take some time and dedication, but if business leaders demonstrate their commitment to wellness, and if parents take that commitment home and share it with their families, health and wellness will become more commonplace in our daily lives.“ Construction of a new 28,500 square foot Prevea Ashwaubenon Health Center is currently underway—just down the road from the current location. The new clinic will be connected to Western Racquet & Fitness Club, which will create a unique community resource for total wellness. Prevea urgent care, family medicine, endocrinology, WorkMed, orthopedics, sports medicine, physical and occupational therapy services will be available at the new location, and once the moves are completed, the old Ashwauben- on building will close. The new building will not only feature a state-of-the-art health center, it will also include a 100 seat video education room for free community presentations like Prevea’s Well Said educational series. “Connecting our new building to Western Racquet & Fitness Club makes wellness activities more convenient,” said Dr. Ashok Rai, President and Chief Executive Officer of Prevea Health. “Club members will have immediate access to our services, patients will benefit from convenient The new Prevea Ashwaubenon Health Center connected to Western Racquet & Fitness Club will be complete December 2011. access to a premier fitness facility and the entire community will have the opportunity to learn about topics ranging from nutrition to sleep disorders in the new education facility.” While the new health center is under construction, Western Racquet & Fitness Club is undergoing a renovation of its own. The club, which completed a multi-million dollar expansion just a few short years ago, is adding new multi-purpose space, basketball courts and a hot yoga room. Construction is slated for completion in December 2011, and Prevea services will move into the new building as clinical areas are completed.
