Your mind is already made up and there is no decision to be made.” WOME N ’ S D I V I S I O N CHRISTINE JENSEMA Chief People Officer HSHS Eastern Wisconsin Division “I was originally persuaded by a co-worker to sign-up for this year’s Executive Edge. 12-weeks later, I’m much more dedicated to my day-to-day health and feeling great about it. Thanks!” To say that the cost of health care has become a hot topic is an understatement. Business owners, elected officials and nearly every member of the community are debating ways to reduce the health care drain on our nation’s resources, and conflicting theories abound. But there is one fact that seems unnecessarily simple— companies can reduce the cost of providing health care coverage by reducing the need for care. Many area organizations are now investing in wellness programs because employees who are committed to living a healthy lifestyle need less care for chronic disease resulting in lower health insurance rates. This dedication to wellness and a commitment to improving the health of Northeast Wisconsin is what brought two area organizations together. LEADWELL, the partnership between Prevea Health and Western Racquet & Fitness Club offers companies customizable wellness programming as well as onsite health care services. “We know health care and they know fitness, and working together allows us to offer one strong, medically-based wellness program,” said Dr. Ashok Rai, President and Chief Executive Officer of Prevea Health. Under the Prevea Health & Wellness umbrella, the partnership offers multiple occupational health and wellness services, while Western Racquet & Fitness Club provides the fitness know-how to improve personal health. “Through our partnership with Prevea,” said Mark Thomas, Vice President and Co-Owner of Western Racquet & Fitness Club, “we were able to proactively identify health issues and then teach the lifestyle and fitness skills needed to maintain a healthier and more profitable workforce within our community.” “Our onsite services, like nursing and onsite medical clinics are an immediate cost savings for business that keep employees healthy and reduce the amount of work hours lost due to illness or injury,” said Dr. Rai. 29.8 Point INCREASE 8.4 Point INCREASE
