AZCO INC. started business in 1949, initially serving the pulp and paper industry. Originally, the name developed out of an idea signifying service offerings from A to Z. Today, AZCO INC. employs more than 100 people locally and about 540 union craftsmen nationally. The company is employee-owned and has been recognized as one of the nation's top 20 Power Contractors. During the past six decades, AZCO INC. has worked with locally- based companies such as Kimberly Clark, Neenah Foundry, Wisconsin Public Service, Waupaca Foundry, We Energies, Alliant Energy, Bemis- Curwood, Miller Electric and the Outagamie County Regional Airport. AZCO INC. established its first shop fabrication facility and equipment yard in 1953, which can still be seen on the west side of Highway 41. AZCO operates three fabrication locations in the Fox Valley. outagaMie County launCheS buSineSS loan fund Outagamie County is rolling out a new fund to assist area businesses, including manufacturers, using revenue generated by the closure of Tax Incremental Financing District 3 in the Village of Little Chute. "From day one, a top priority has been doing all we can to foster economic development and job creation in our community," says Thomas Nelson, county executive. "This fund affords us the opportunity to help local businesses expand a business or start a new one." The $318,000 revolving loan fund will help businesses structure financial packages to start up or expand existing operations where conventional financing is limited. Interest will be pegged to the prime rate. Repaid principal and interest will be recycled, growing the fund and making more loans available to other businesses.
