regional roundup announced the completion of a revolving micro-loan for a project in the Village of Bonduel. Greg and Melissa Trinko received a $10,000 loan to assist with the purchase of Meadow View Estates, an assisted living facility located at 400 W. Mill Street in Bonduel. SCEPI's revolving micro-loan fund program provides up to $10,000 in matching loan funds to small businesses with 25 or fewer employees. This program is just one business development incentive available to employers through Shawano Country Vision 2017, a five-year economic development plan strategically designed to address the needs of area businesses and communities. The plan's overall goal is to create and retain jobs by implementing action steps in key areas, including business expansion, attraction and recruitment, tourism/ retail development and community development. Shawano Country Vision 2017 also includes cash incentives for job creation, a Façade Improvement Matching Grant Program, and an Interior Improvement Matching Grant Program. "This project helps with our objectives to strengthen and grow businesses in the region," says Dennis Heling, chief economic development officer of Shawano County Economic Progress. "Not only does it retain jobs and keep this business in operation, it assisted in creating two additional much-needed jobs." Any employer or entrepreneur operating in Shawano or Menominee counties can apply for incentive programs by contacting Heling at (715) 526-5839.
