Mishicot High School was honored for its plant science program, which was developed in partnership with more than 30 local businesses and Northeast Wisconsin Technical College, Fox Valley Technical College and Lakeshore Technical College. The program evolved from a single class into a full program of study, offering students the ability to earn college credits and industry certifications. Students also engage in work-based learning, assuring an understanding of industry trends and connections for future employment. Kaukauna High School's manufacturing program works with FVTC to prepare students for high-demand careers with hands-on experience and rigorous coursework. Kaukauna students, who are part of the state's Youth Apprenticeship program, can program state-of-the-art machining equipment that uses industry-standard computer-aided design. They can earn state-recognized certifications and college credit in manufacturing, automation and electronics for a smooth transition to college or career. WEDC awards tax credits to Faith Technologies project The Wisconsin Economic Development Corp. has authorized up to $800,000 in state income tax credits over the next three years for Faith Technologies' new Excellerate manufacturing facility, which is under construction in Little Chute. The Menasha-based company's $20 million project is expected to create 275 jobs over the next three years. The 225,000-square-foot facility is expected to be completed later this year. Beyond the 275 jobs, an economic modeling study estimates the project could indirectly generate 136 additional jobs in the region. Those 411 total new jobs are expected to generate over $3 million in state income tax revenue over a five-year period. The actual amount of tax credits Faith Technologies will receive is contingent upon the number of jobs created in the next three years.
