WAYNE LIN: 25TH SEASON ANNIVERSARY SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA CONCERT featuring the Youth Orchestra and many special guests Saturday | September 22, 2018 | 7:30pm As the 25th Season launches, we pause to look back and honor the visionaries who brought the Weidner Center dream to fruition. In 1993, 11 year-old violinist and Green Bay native Wayne Lin performed at the inaugural event hosted by Beverly Sills. Now the Associate Concertmaster of the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra, Lin returns this fall to the Weidner Center as a soloist in this concert event. WeidnerCenter.com 3 25 YEARS OF THE WEIDNER CENTER "We thought a performing arts center would present valuable opportunities for the students and faculty of the University. More broadly, we thought that the Weidner Center would enrich the quality of life in Green Bay and the surrounding communities." Dr. Edward Weidner, Chancellor, 1966-1986 University of Wisconsin–Green Bay This year is the Weidner Center's Silver Celebration and we are keeping Chancellor Weidner's words and vision top of mind as we look to the next 25 years.
