Job duties: Supervising workers, managing MRP (material resource planning) system/data system/ customer orders. What kind of school, classes and training best prepared you with the necessary skills? I have an accounting clerk certification and associate degree from NWTI in Rhinelander, and an MRP certification from NWTC in Green Bay. In college, psychology class helped in dealing with different personalities. KI through the years has been very good with having internal classes and training. Are there any negative perceptions about manufacturing careers? Yes: The perception that anyone can work in manufacturing. I think it takes the learning you get in high school along with the additional training either through college or vocational school. With technology changing the way we process and manufacture products, additional training is a must to succeed.
