Julia Flaherty Our credo, in action U nited Way. It is not just the name of our organization. It is our credo, because we know that change doesn't happen alone. It takes us, United, to house the homeless, care for the elderly, prepare our children for the future, and ultimately, build a stronger, more caring community for everyone. In this issue you will see our credo in action… » Our board, campaign co- chairs, and volunteers spend more than 1,200 hours each year helping us raise funds, survey community issues, and make difficult investment decisions. We rely on our volunteers to use their expertise to fight for those who need a voice and those whose names we do not know. » The ALICE Report was released by United Ways across Wisconsin so that we could have a way of better defining our families, neighbors, and colleagues who work hard, but do not earn enough to afford a basic budget. Armed with this knowledge, we can become the change-makers who fight for the health, education, and financial stability of every person. » Our partners serve more than 100,000 people in the Fox Cities through over 100 United Way-funded programs, initiatives, and grants. Our list of partners is long because complex issues require complex solutions. We have one life. To live better, we must LIVE UNITED. UW — Peter C. Kelly, President and CEO F R O M T H E P R E S I D E N T Mission Statement United Way Fox Cities improves lives by bringing diverse people together to build a stronger, more caring community for everyone. a p r o d u c t i o n o f
