EVENT|NEWS he Northeast Wisconsin (NEW) Manufacturing Alliance is hosting the first Excellence in Manufacturing/ Education Partnerships Awards on Tuesday, Sept. 25 at the KI Convention Center in Green Bay. The event precedes the Manufacturing First Expo & Conference planned for Wednesday, Sept. 26. T The awards event spotlights the best practices of manufacturing and education collaborations throughout Wisconsin and showcases top talent from local manufacturing companies. Manufacturers, many of whom are experiencing skills shortages, recognize that working with schools will help build a future pipeline of talent for their companies. The event will recognize the following manufacturers and leaders: Ariens Company, leadership; A to Z Machine, youth apprenticeship; Lindquist Machine, educational partnership; Kohler, brighter image; EMT's Paul Rauscher, visionary. The educators and schools that will be recognized are Brillion NEW MANUFACTURING ALLIANCE LAUNCHES AWARDS EVENT High School's Steve Meyer, career pathmaker-tech education teacher; Sheboygan School District Superintendent Joe Sheehan, career pathmaker-administrator; Green Bay School District's Lori Peacock, career pathmaker-educator; Neenah High School, manufacturer partnership; Plymouth High School, brighter image; Wausaukee, Crivitz and Pembine School District, education innovation. A community partnership award also will be given to the Door/Kewaunee Business and Education Partnership. At the event, the NEW Manufacturing Alliance also will announce the winners of the 2013 All Star awards, which represent people working in manufacturing throughout northeast Wisconsin. The event starts at 5 p.m. with a networking reception and silent auction. The dinner and awards program follows at 6:15 p.m. Tickets are $50 per person.
