Brandeis E ach day, United Way Fox Cities attempts to do the impossible. rough research we take a long, hard look at the problems in our community. Poverty, mental health, domestic abuse and early childhood development oen make the top of the list. ese issues aren't simple to solve, in fact some might say impossible. But we remain diligent. We work on targeted, comprehensive approaches to build a stronger, more caring community for everyone. In the following pages, we take a closer look at two of the ways United Way Fox Cities makes a difference each year in the lives of 1 in 3 people in our community. » We look at the challenges faced by so many in our community when one emergency can cause a spiral into poverty. » We share good news about the expansion of Reach Out and Read, a United Way-funded initiative led by the Appleton Public Library to make sure children enter school ready to learn.
