WELCOME TO THE 2016-2017 THE POWER TO TRANSFORM LIVES Dear Friends, Welcome to the 2016-2017 Performing Arts Season at the Weidner Center for the Performing Arts. What a year we had! For the fifth consecutive year, the Weidner Center for the Performing Arts saw an increase in attendance. Record crowds and multiple sell-out performances during the season tell us the arts programming we're bringing to Northeast Wisconsin is exactly what you're looking for. And what a season we have in store for you. This season builds once again on the Weidner's success as a preeminent destination for the best of Broadway, family fare and comedy. To say that we have something for everyone is not an understatement. It's a stellar lineup that includes Ailey II, The Hip Hop Nutcracker, Annie, Pippin, and much more. The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay is deeply proud of the Weidner Center's ability to extend the University's educational mission and share the transformative power of live performance with so many in this region. Last season 15,580 PreK-12 students from 67 cities in Wisconsin and Michigan's Upper Peninsula experienced the joy and inspiration of the performing arts through the Stage Doors Education Series. We can't wait to repeat and grow upon that success in the year ahead. In elevating the arts, we elevate our own capacity for innovation, creativity and problem-solving, all key tenets of a strong university and community. We are thrilled to play such a strong leading role in both. We are excited to present this attractive entertainment and education-rich season, and we look forward to seeing you at the Weidner Center and on campus throughout the coming year. Enjoy! Gary L. Miller, Chancellor University of Wisconsin-Green Bay Performing Arts Season 2 WeidnerCenter.com
