Start Anywhere. © 2015 New Era N EW Manufacturing Alliance members asked higher education partners, "How can we work together on engineering talent? We need more "hands-on" skilled engineering talent that can solve process challenges, work with operations to improve efficiencies, and integrate new technologies." Northeast Wisconsin Educational Resource Alliance (NEW ERA), whose members are the 12 colleges and universities in northeast Wisconsin, responded. Today, there are over 100 students who are committed to earning a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology - Mechanical, Electrical, or Environmental. Three new Bachelor of Science degrees in Engineering Technology, right here in northeast Wisconsin! One of the great benefits of the program is that students can start anywhere—Northeast Wisconsin Technical College, Fox Valley Technical College, Moraine Park Technical College, Lakeshore Technical College, UW-Fond du Lac, UW-Sheboygan, UW-Fox Valley, UW-Manitowoc, College of Menominee Nation, UW-Green Bay or UW-Oshkosh. Students are awarded their Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology from either UW-Green Bay or UW-Oshkosh. Andrew Stoegbauer (UW-Fox Valley) "I am very fortunate to have had the opportunity to graduate from Brillion High School, and to be part of a supportive community. After graduating high school I worked at the Ariens Company in the fabrication department for a summer. While I was there I had the privilege to work alongside many people on the factory floor and experience how hard they work and their job knowledge. My decision to pursue a degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology solidified as I was given another opportunity to work, this time at Miller Electric. I have had the privilege to work at Miller Electric as a summer student for the past three summers. Becoming an engineer would give me the opportunity to work alongside the production employees, communicating with them, and building relationships with them. I am finishing my final semester at UW-Fox Valley and will be transferring to the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay in the spring of 2016 to finish my degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology." www.neweraonline.org
