"One thing that makes him unique is the way he challenges his audience to think differently," says Mickey Noone, president of First Business Bank Northeast, one of the conference's primary sponsors. "e labor force is always changing over time, and if leadership doesn't change, the labor shortage gap will become even wider." Estis speaks at 8 a.m. on Oct. 22. He will focus on managing breakthrough performance in the New Economy and discussing approaches to effective leadership. He also challenges conventional leadership practices and explores techniques that keep up with the ever- changing needs of today's workforce. e keynote will also deal with ways to capture employee commitment and evaluate overall productivity. "I've heard a lot of people say really good things about his presentations," Noone says. "e audience will get a new leadership perspective and what to do in regards of tracking the labor shortage." Estis, a former chief strategy officer for the McCann Worldgroup, will bring 20-plus years of experience to this year's event. His client base ranges from companies such as AT&T and Adobe. All presentations he gives include original research and customized insight that applies to different audience industries. Ann Franz, director of the NEW Manufacturing Alliance, says organizers are excited to welcome Ryan to the expo. "Ryan has worked with other manufacturing associations in the past and has clients that are also manufacturing companies," Franz says.
