PORT OF GREEN BAY TONNAGE DECLINES IN JULY July tonnage for the Port of Green Bay was less than 940,000 metric tons, a 14 percent dip from July 2014. "We had a decrease in salt (36 percent) and limestone (42 percent) last month," says Dean Haen, Port and Resource Recovery director. "We are hoping the drop is just a timing issue and that things pick back up again for the remainder of the season." e decrease was somewhat anticipated with a leveling out in cargo, Haen says. "While a drop in tonnage is never a good thing, continued steady increases of other cargo like cement and coal are optimistic signs that we will end the season on a strong note."
