"I have been with Forefront Dermatology for several years, and I've never been happier. I considered many practices throughout the country, and frankly, there was no comparison. As a working mother of three boys, my priority is not only being the best dermatologist to my patients, but also balancing work with family. anks to the electronic medical record system, the efficiency of my nursing staff, and full access to my own administration and billing department, I am able to focus on treating patients and then ending my work day to go home and devote my time to my family. I do not spend hours aer work signing notes and dealing with administration duties. I am generously compensated financially for my work and get great satisfaction working in a company run by and for dermatologists." Betsy Wernli, MD Scheduling Concierge Services department located in Manitowoc. The clinic receptionist does not take phone calls which could be perceived as interruptive to the patient checking in. We work smarter, not harder, at Forefront Dermatology." Dr. Katz's sister, Tricia Wagner, Vice President of Business Development, is responsible for helping to prepare and onboard newly acquired clinics and physicians, integrating them into the culture, systems and processes so they can enjoy that work-life balance. "We believe physicians should diagnose, treat and perform procedures and everything else should be taken care of by the medical staff and business support team,'' Wagner says. "Our electronic medical record system, the efficiency of our nursing staff and full access to our support services departments along with the operating process we have in place allow our physicians to focus solely on the treatment of patients. Finding time to spend with their own family is never a problem.'' Forefront Dermatology strives to be the preferred employer in all of their areas. Wagner adds, "Dr. Katz has an open door policy for anyone in the practice. We are one team that works together to benefit our patients and the communities we serve.'' Dr. Katz categorizes Forefront Dermatology as a regional player that is expanding into surrounding states. "I think that when you're the best at what you do, becoming the biggest follows naturally, because physicians want to join your group, patients want to be seen by your group, and that just continues to develop the business model,'' he says. "By surrounding yourself with good people to help manage the business and develop the business aspect of things, you can continue to grow. In medicine, it's all about reputation and quality of service — if you have those two things along with a well-run company, you will continue to grow. "My goal is to be the best, and I also believe in five years, we'll be the largest dermatology practice in the country." ■
