Forefront Dermatology

aunched in 2001 as Dermatology Associates of Manitowoc by Dr. Kenneth H. Katz, Forefront Dermatology is the second largest practice of its kind in the U.S. — and growing. One could say dermatology and business has always been in the heart of Kenneth Katz. At a very early age, Ken showed an entrepreneur edge and helped develop many efficiencies for his father's solo dermatology practice. In elementary school Katz stuffed bills and filed charts; in middle school Ken set up cost-side accounting; in high school he wrote a program to help complete universal health insurance forms; in medical school Dr. Katz set up the first accounting program used by the practice, and advancements continue as the practice grows nationwide. Forefront Dermatology launched as Dermatology Associates of Manitowoc in 2001 as a solo practice. Within a few short years, however, the name was changed to Dermatology Associates of Wisconsin, S.C. as the practice started opening more clinics throughout Wisconsin. As the practice's footprint expanded well beyond the borders of the dairy state, a new name was in order. Former Marketing Director Amy Katz, who is married to Ken, led the charge to find a new name that would be unique under federal trademark. After an extensive search the name Forefront Dermatology was chosen as the new name for the practice.
