What's most interesting about your job? The people I work with are some of the most talented and fun people I've ever met. What kind of training prepared you with the necessary skills? I took every shop class they let me take in high school. I received a degree in machine tool and later a degree in mechanical design from NWTC. How did you decide on a career path? After a car accident left me disabled and no longer able to run machines, I picked up sheet metal layout and design. What advice would you give students who are undecided on a career field? Find something you have passion and skill for, then put everything you have into it. Also, people with disabilities can find jobs in manufacturing. Privately-held, Great Northern Corporation is a designer and manufacturer of commercial and consumer packaging and point-of-sale displays. It employs 950 people with operations in seven states.
