Conference happening Once again manufacturers have the opportunity to participate in the state's premier events, over three days in Milwaukee. The Wisconsin Manufacturing Extension Partnership (WMEP) and Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce (WMC) have teamed up to build a slate of events that educate, inform, inspire and encourage manufacturers. KEYNOTE SPEAKER MIKE LASZKIEWICZ VP & GENERAL MANAGER Power Control Business at Rockwell Automation As Vice President and General Manager of the Power Control Business, Mike Laszkiewicz leads the teams responsible for the Rockwell Automation Engineered Solutions Business, Medium and Low Voltage variable frequency drives and the Medium and Low Voltage motor control centers. Over the past several years, Laszkiewicz has seen an inrush of technology that's changing the manufacturing landscape from labor intensity to highly productive production processes. As a result industry is now at a point driven by the growing convergence of information technology and operations technology. Rockwell Automation calls this "The Connected Enterprise" enhanced by the "Internet of Things". Mike will explain how "The Connected Enterprise" improves productivity, sustainability, and economic performance for manufacturers. Erik Nieves Technology Director - Yaskawa Motoman Robotics Erik Nieves, is responsible for the technology roadmap and emerging applications. During his 20+ year tenure at Yaskawa, Nieves has held a variety of leadership positions in the U.S. and abroad. Nieves has published many articles on advances in robot technology, including dexterous manipulation, multiple arm control, controls architecture, and robotic metrology. Mr. Neives will be presenting on Robotics Trends for Advanced Manufacturing. Gardner Carrick VP Strategic Initiatives - Manufacturing Institute Gardner Carrick is the Vice President of Strategic Initiatives at The Manufacturing Institute. Mr. Carrick leads the Institute's research activities including partnerships with internationally recognized consulting firms and the production of a regular series of reports on the issues and challenges affecting U.S. manufacturing. Mr. Carrick will be participating in a panel on Securing your Future Workforce.
