Open your refrigerator or pantry, hop in your car, handle paper and packaging — so many things we take for granted, especially ingredients and components of these and many other items — have come through companies in our own backyard. We have a lot of gems to be proud of here. So it is with Galloway Company. e household brands for which the Neenah company produces its products are top secret (many of them are competitors with each other), but I'll bet if you started your day with cream in your coffee, indulged in a sweet treat during the day or popular liqueur in the evening, what you consumed has come through the steel pipes and intricate processes at Galloway. What started as a milk products company in the 1930s has evolved into a highly-specialized ingredients company with continuous innovation a key to its success. Galloway owns several patents for its innovations that have increased efficiency, and thus, production. Some of these have become standard features in the dairy industry as a whole. As global competition heats up and profit margins become thinner than ever, companies that strive for success make innovation a top priority. is commitment to research and development — combined with risk-taking, since not every great idea will contribute to the bottom line — that sets progressive companies apart. InDevelopment 2015 will be held from 2 to 7 p.m., ursday, March 12 at the Radisson Hotel and Conference Center in Green Bay. Our keynote, T.J. Brooks, comes highly recommended as an entertaining and informative speaker on economic trends. Check out our Connections feature on page 22 for details. e event is open to the public for $35. I hope to you there! Polished gems in our midst are result of innovation
