PROLAMINA BUYS CONVERTER Prolamina Corp. is expanding its Fox Valley operations, but it is costing jobs in Kaukauna. Prolamina, which opened a packaging facility in August in the former Kimberly-Clark diaper plant in the Town of Menasha, acquired the assets of Packaging Dynamics Corp.'s extrusion laminating, 10-color printing and converting business in Kaukauna. One hundred jobs at the facility will be affected when Prolamina moves the operations to the Town of Menasha site. Packaging Dynamics employees may be eligible for the jobs being created at the Town of Menasha site. Packaging Dynamics Corp. also operates Thilmany in Kaukauna; those operations, which employ more than 700, are not affected by the sale. Prolamina says the purchase will support its focus on the food and medical packaging markets. BADGER TAG DEBUTS ADHESIVE Badger Tag & Label Corp. of Random Lake has developed an adhesive for labels that performs like a permanent hold, but is still repositionable.
