N E W N O R T H , I N C . 2 0 As another year comes to a close it's good to reflect on the many accomplishments of the great people and the great organizations in our New North region. You'll see these accomplishments throughout this report and during the 2014 New North Summit. e Summit theme this year, "Every part counts," emphasizes the importance of all of our companies, organizations and people collaborating seamlessly to build the economy of this region. ere are no efforts that are too small to contribute to the greater New North story. We are being held as an example around the state, and in fact, our brand is becoming known around the country as a leader in collaborative economic development. Our momentum is building and as it continues, the rising water level floats all ships. Every part counts! You'll hear more about workforce initiatives where our educational institutions are working together with businesses to ensure a greater supply of skilled employees. We now are graduating people with engineering degrees in the region. Organizations in the region are working feverishly together to close the gap in the development of information technology talent – and companies are expanding. Look around. Businesses are hiring. ey are building new facilities and launching new products and services. It is indeed a growing landscape. e economic development organizations in the region are striving to work together more than ever before.
