1864 - 2014 | St. John's Lutheran Church | 1 Dear friends in Jesus, A nniversaries always remind us of important events. Some of them are happy; others are painful. Yet with all of them we can see God at work. When we look at the joys and struggles of past years, we see the long way that has been traveled. What has gotten St. John's through all those years? God's Word. The encouragement God gives to us of sins forgiven and a new life begun in Jesus Christ. That means a happy anniversary to you and your families. We are able to celebrate another year of service to our Savior. He has now brought us through 150 years of his grace. I trust you will celebrate this anniversary with gratitude to God for the privilege of knowing and proclaiming Jesus as Redeemer. You will celebrate with thanksgiving to God for the Word that has been shared with you at St. John's and how you have been equipped with everything needed for salvation and life. Remember also to thank the Lord for those who God has placed close to you—family, friends, and other brothers and sisters in Christ who have been joined together with you as members of St. John's and also of God's church throughout the world. They serve Jesus by encouraging you and others. As you consider the blessings of the past years, spend some quiet time with your heavenly Father, ponder these encouraging words: "Therefore, since through God's mercy we have this ministry, we do not lose heart...For we do not preach ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus' sake... So that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God" (2 Corinthians 4:1,5,15) In His Name, Pastor Paul Fritz Pastor Paul Fritz Ordained and Installed July 4, 2010 Let us encourage one another. Hebrews 10:25
