U nited Way works every day to improve lives and create lasting change in our community. rough community-wide studies we identify key issues and areas of focus. We gather partners from across the community to create solutions that address those issues. e work of our United Way is unique to our community, as it is based upon the needs we see here in the Fox Cities. We have identied four priority issues that are areas of focus for us: • Developing Children: We are helping children enter school ready to learn and providing safe, quality and aordable care for children and youth. Many children who live in poverty do not develop the skills that they need to be successful in school. We help children develop their full potential and become productive members of society. • Improving Self-Sufficiency: We are working to make sure everyone has training to enter the workforce and access to basic needs. Improving the availability of basic needs is crucial, but we also are building support for our neighbors as they work to become self-sucient through developing employment readiness skills and locating aordable housing. • Supporting Health and Healing: We are supporting education, access and delivery of mental health services along with improving access to medical and dental care. United Way is working to ensure that both mental and physical care is available to all residents by supporting mental health services — including programs for victims of sexual assault and domestic violence, medical care and dental care. • Strengthening Families: We are working to increase parent education and support programs that serve the whole family. United Way is focused on improving parenting skills through education. We also support families through programs that address a variety of needs for older adults, persons with disabilities and those needing literacy services. Change will not happen without all of us working together. We invite you to be part of the change. You can give, you can advocate and you can volunteer. at's what it means to LIVE UNITED.
