Kelly O nce upon a time, in the land of the Fox Cities, there lived tens of thousands of people that came together to make the community a better place. ey volunteered their time to help their neighbors and invested in lasting change so that everyone could live a better life. is story is no fairy tale – this is the LIVE UNITED Story – and we invite you to read more throughout this publication. Our story has many chapters – only a few of which we will share with you today: » Chapter 1 is about a community caring for the littlest of its members through early childhood and youth development programs. It is one of our priorities to make sure that our children enter school ready to learn and have the greatest chance of success as they move forward in life. » Chapter 2 is about building a community that achieves and maintains a healthy weight at every age. You will learn about a new initiative, e Weight of the Fox Valley, working in Calumet, Outagamie and Winnebago counties to combat the increasing challenges of obesity. Our story is told not only in the following pages, but through lives across the community; 1 in 3 people will be helped by a United Way-supported program this year. Our story is one that will impact generations to come, and you are a big part of it. It is a story lled with hope and a happy ending for everyone, when we come together to LIVE UNITED. UW PETER C. KELLY, PRESIDENT AND CEO FROM THE PRESIDENT
