But if you appreciate great food and wine and you're unfamiliar with what goes on at Kohler every October, there's only one thing to say: You're missing out. e 14th annual Kohler Food & Wine Experience, the Midwest's premier wine, spirits and culinary festival, takes place Oct. 23-26. ere. Now you know. If your imagination does not already smell the aromas, hear the clatter of pots and pans and taste the exquisite flavors, you may want a few details. At the Kohler Food & Wine Experience, celebrity chefs from New York City, Chicago and nationwide will present interactive cooking demonstrations where attendees can get up close and personal. ey'll also participate in several events, featuring everything from wine and spirits seminars and book signings to special dinners and a Sunday brunch. Fans of "Iron Chef," "Cook's Illustrated," "America's Test Kitchen" and other national culinary media will see familiar names in the lineup, including Graham Elliot, Stephanie Izard, Christopher Kimball, Rick Tramonto and Geoffrey Zakarian. Fans of some of Wisconsin's best restaurants will have the chance to learn from their favorites, including Green Bay's ree ree Five Chef Chris Manglass and Sheboygan's Stefano Viglietti, chef and owner of Trattoria Stefano. Viglietti, for one, has had the honor of presenting his culinary techniques nearly every year, and looks forward to being at Kohler again. is year he expects to do a seafood presentation with tastes from the coasts of Italy. "It's neat to have an event of this magnitude here in Wisconsin," Viglietti says. "You get people from all over the country and you get to meet people from 'Cook's Illustrated' and people pretty high up in the business. We love it – it's a blast, just a fun, adrenaline-filled day." Manglass, whose ree ree Five restaurant is open to the public for small plate delicacies on Wednesday evenings, once per month for brunch and for special events, has attended the Kohler Experience in the past. He will be demonstrating his art there for the first time this fall. "It's got a good buzz," he says. "e festivities in the fixtures room are really put together. You've got beautiful bathtubs, beautiful people, beautiful food and amazing wines. It makes for a great fit. It's definitely a good place to build relationships with potential customers or others in the industry." e action takes place throughout the Kohler resort, with demonstrations and tastings at e Shops at Woodlake, Kohler Design Center, Woodlake Market, Gourmet Marketplace at e American Club and Stella Artois Beer Tent. In addition to the culinary experiences, top winemakers will host more than 70 seminars on wine and spirits. Free experiences are hosted at e Shops at Woodlake, Kohler Design Center, Woodlake Market, Gourmet Marketplace at e American Club and Stella Artois Beer Tent – with the latter pouring complimentary glasses from Stella Artois' Collection.
