PLANT|NEWS S FVTC, MILLER ELECTRIC PARTNER ON OSHKOSH PROJECT tudents just completed their first semester at Fox Valley Technical College’s Advanced Manufacturing Technology Center in Oshkosh. The 30,000-square-foot facility opened in January to help address the growing demand for skilled workers in the region. The center, which operates in partnership with Miller Electric Mfg. Co., houses the latest technology for both workplace training opportunities and degree-related classes in welding and metal fabrication. The building at 4200 Poberezny Road includes classroom space, a computer lab, 48 welding booths and shop space for students to learn how to operate a variety of machinery and equipment. Miller Electric, which is headquartered in Appleton, is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of arc welding products.
