Future success requires us to advance our networks and enhance our operating model to meet the increasingly complex needs in our communities, while still supporting basic needs and prevention programs that work. Despite efforts throughout the country to address our stressed education systems, financial instability and critical health risks – many with varying degrees of success – we must be more strategic. Quite a few successful local efforts remain invisible even within our community, although some may be models that could eventually drive national change. Currently, we are working with community partners to explore ways in which all of Brown County can join together to promote a strategic and purposeful plan that helps our young people succeed. Through collective impact, the entire community is engaged. This aligns with our work at the Brown County United Way in the arenas of health, self-sufficiency and education. However, first things first. Our annual workforce campaign is right around the corner. This year the effort is led by Denis Hogan, market president of Associated Bank for the Northeastern, Lakeshore and Fox Valley regions along with Susan Finco, president and owner of Leonard & Finco Public Relations, Inc., as well as a great campaign cabinet and our new campaign director, Andria Hannula, who will continue to build on our success. Our campaign video highlights stories from local service recipients at Brown County United Way-funded agencies. From two retired high school athletic directors (husband and wife, one of whom lives with Alzheimer's disease) to the homeless high school student (who is now serving our country in the National Guard), what you hear from them is a common thread: no one can do it alone. It is through collective impact and shared common goals that we can make real changes that are positive for this community. Right here in Brown County, Live United remains our credo. That is, to educate donors about community needs, allow them to make informed decisions about how they can help and then go to work with results. Thank you for your ongoing trust and support of the Brown County United Way. uw matt rentmeester, Bro wn Count y United Way board chair
