We make metal enclosures, painted sheet metal assemblies and custom medical carts. How do your company's products make a difference in people's lives? Our products support multiple industries, generally categorized as industrial or medical customers. Our medical team focuses on custom cart solutions where HUI designs the method to transport a given medical device, which might be used to hold a device that can scan a baby's head or organize tools and components for complex surgeries. What are your job duties? My job is to lead our culture to embrace continuous improvement as a part of our daily routine. I support our teams with time and additional resources so that they can hit their goals. Why do you enjoy your job? It's about finding the right way to support and grow the people you have. I believe any team can have success when you understand your people and play to their strengths and passions. What's your educational background, and what classes and training most prepared you with the necessary skills? I have an associate degree in mechanical design from Fox Valley Technical College, a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from UW-Platteville, and a master of science in organizational and leadership development from Lakeland University. Being a "gearhead" helped me out tremendously from a mechanical engineering standpoint. How did you decide on this career path? I thought I wanted to be a mechanic. We make wet wipes, coffee filters and baking cups. How do your company's products make a difference in people's lives? We are able to supply people with filters to have their coffee. Also, we are able to provide wet wipes to disinfect and sanitize people and areas. What are your job duties? I coach and guide associates as well as make sure we provide a service to production and other suppliers. Why do you enjoy your job? It is a fast-paced environment and provides opportunities to develop and mentor others. Why do you choose to live in Northeast Wisconsin? My family and I enjoy it because we live in a good community and are able to enjoy time with our families. How did you decide on this career path? I was young and was looking to have a good job that was stable and with opportunities to grow. What classes and training most prepared you with the necessary skills? I have forklift certification and took classes through work. I'm also planning on going back to school in the spring to help me develop into a better leader. What kinds of technology do you use and interact with? We use JDE (JD Edwards, an enterprise resource planning software), DSI (Data Systems International, an inventory management system) and Windows Office software.
