Deb Toll Mission Statement United Way Fox Cities improves lives by bringing diverse people together to build a stronger, more caring community for everyone. a p r o d u c t i o n o f Our shared story C O N T E N T S 3 President's message 4 Board of Directors 5 When we LIVE UNITED 10 Meet CEO Peter Gianopoulos 12 By the Numbers 14 Transforming Lives 17 Volunteers 1455 Midway Road Menasha, WI 54952 (920) 954-7210 A s I begin my tenure as president and CEO of United Way Fox Cities, it is with great anticipation and humility. e letters, emails and social media responses have been overwhelming. I have been blessed with a legacy that was established by my predecessor, Peter C. Kelly, and the amazing staff here at United Way. I simply see myself as the next custodian, entrusted with this great organization and community. I oen say the wind doesn't blow cold for me here in the Fox Cities, but I also realize this is not the story for many people who live here today. is is why I threw my name in the hat when approached about whether I would be interested in the role. It is a calling for me. I love this community and its people! I am so grateful for all those who have mentored and been role models for me over the years. I truly see myself as a product of all those people who have invested their time and energy in me and have supported me. I will continue to do the same for those who come aer me. Most people believe they are living an individual story — a single story focused only on themselves. It is my belief we are living a shared story — a story where we are all connected to each other, to the past, and to the future by how we act and what we say. Today's world presents new challenges as well as many new opportunities. It will take courage from all of us to be the change we all want to see. Having courage doesn't mean we are fearless. It means the opposite; we are rising above our fears. Together, let's rise above the fears that stop us from Living United and take care of each other. UW Sincerely, — Peter Gianopoulos, President and CEO F R O M T H E P R E S I D E N T It starts with YOU.
