CHARITABLE GIVING AND GRANTS e Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region and United Way Fox Cities announced that one year aer establishing the COVID-19 Community Response Fund, the organizations had granted a total of $1.6 million to 106 nonprofits in the regions the organizations serve. e Community Foundation also distributed an extra $1 million in grants divided among 23 nonprofits through the David L. and Rita E. Nelson Family Fund. Native American tribes in Northeast Wisconsin are receiving coronavirus relief money aimed at combating housing issues through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Indian Housing Block Grants program. e Oneida Nation is receiving nearly $2.8 million, the Menominee tribe more than $1.9 million and the Stockbridge- Munsee community nearly $370,000. St. Joseph Food Program opened its new drive-up distribution model, a result of adapting to keep its guests and volunteers safe during the pandemic. Miron Construction Co. Inc. donated nearly $300,000 in construction work. Valley VNA launched the public phase of a $3.25 million fundraising campaign to support campus enhancements. e Community First Fox Cities Marathon presented by Miron Construction announced plans to hold its 30th annual weekend of events on Sept. 17- 19, with in-person and virtual events.
