Just being able to afford health care for another year allows us to breathe a dubious sigh of relief, even feel a sense of gra tude. "We're lucky," we may tell ourselves. And perhaps we are. But living a good life should be about more than paying for your health care. In an era when employers are paying more than $20K for each employee's health care, and the employ- ee contribu on exceeds the en re premium costs of 20 years ago, it's up to us to provide the solu ons needed. Since 2014, NOVO Health has collabora vely designed programs for employers to curb medical expenses and provide high-quality services with a supe- rior experience. A mo vated employer partner applied the process — which we call the 5 Steps to Health Care Independence — to a different health care challenge and produced a similarly powerful result. The steps are not hard: Evaluate - Analyze your data; iden fy the areas for improvement. Ac vate - Design the solu on and deploy. Educate - Inform employees of the new op ons and how to use them. Mo vate - Know the triggers that will produce the behaviors you want. Celebrate - Ac- knowledge the smallest of victories to create momentum. The challenge is knowing the strategic areas to apply the pro- cess and how to accom- plish each step.
