We manufacture labels for companies across the United States. What are your job duties? My job duties are setting up and maintaining a coating machine. While the machine is producing product, I am consistently checking the quality and testing the product to make sure it exceeds our customers' expectations. Why do you choose to live in Northeast Wisconsin? Northeast Wisconsin has always felt like home to me. My family and friends have all stuck around the Fox Valley, which plays the biggest factor. I really like the size of the cities and how close they are to state parks and other nature centers. It is overall a very good balance of everything for me. How did you decide on this career path? I started at Heartland to be summer help after a year of college. I really grew to like the people and environment Heartland had to offer. After only a short time of being there, I saw there was potential and opportunity to make a career out of this place. What education and training most prepared you with the necessary skills? I have a diploma from Kaukauna High School. Algebra, chemistry and shop classes helped prepare me for my job today. What kinds of technology do you use and interact with? As a coating operator, we need many tools and instruments to make sure that we are able do our job correctly and accurately. The coating machine's heart is its What does your company make? Aluminum and brass cast parts for multiple industries. All-American pressure cookers and canners were one of the first products produced here, and they are still a mainstay in the company. How do your company's products make a difference in people's lives? Aluminum castings are lighter weight, making many items more energy efficient while still being long lasting. What are your job duties? To design and fabricate many items to help in daily production and to help in keeping the workforce safe. Why do you enjoy your job? I am allowed the freedom to bring my own perspective on a project and solve unlimited problems with my designs. Why do you choose to live in Northeast Wisconsin? I grew up here, so family is first and I have made many friends in and outside of work. Northeast Wisconsin has a strong work ethic, and if you're willing to put in the effort, you have unlimited potential to grow. How did you decide on this career path? I have always enjoyed drawing and sketching ideas. It seemed like second nature to try to build on some designs, which led me to the fabrication side of things. What classes and training most prepared you with the necessary skills? Early on, it was trial-and-error in the garage, and when I realized this was what I wanted to do, I earned a certified welder
