Deb Toll Mission Statement United Way Fox Cities improves lives by bringing diverse people together to build a stronger, more caring community for everyone. a p r o d u c t i o n o f Stronger Together Peter C. As we faced a global pandemic, all of us experienced increased stress and anxiety. To foster a greater sense of resiliency during difficult times, mental health professionals recommend practicing gratitude by expressing feelings of thankfulness. I would like to follow their advice and offer a list of a few things for which I'm grateful: » Collaboration: Within days of learning about the crisis, our friends at the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region partnered with us to establish the COVID-19 Community Response Fund. e important work of the fund continues to this day, providing urgent basic needs support to nonprofits. Learn more about the fund and other ways in which we collaborate to care for our community on page 10. » Innovation: United Way Fox Cities has 38 nonprofit partners (listed on page 16), 10 of which provide mental health services. All of our mental health partners are connecting with clients in creative ways, including teletherapy and check-ins or group sessions via phone and Zoom. On page 5, you will read about the innovative ways they are ensuring people can access services to stay mentally healthy. » Connection: Our community is rich with resources and generous people and organizations willing to lend a hand. On page 12, read about United Way's 2-1-1 and the Give Help • Get Help Hub, both operated by United Way Fox Cities to connect people who need help with those offering help. I would be remiss if I did not mention that this year will be unlike any other for United Way Fox Cities. Our fundraising goal will be difficult to reach at a time when the need for nonprofit services has never been greater. I ask each of you to please champion the work of United Way and support our fundraising efforts this fall. We have proven time and again that working together, we can accomplish amazing goals. We're in it together — let's come out of it stronger than ever. Be well and LIVE UNITED. UW — Peter C. Kelly, President and CEO F R O M T H E P R E S I D E N T
