Many restaurants are open for carryout and delivery, and health experts say getting takeout is a safe option. Amy Albright, executive director of the Oshkosh Convention and Visitors Bureau, says now is an ideal time to show some love to your favorite spots through ordering food to go, purchasing gi cards and leaving positive reviews. When Albright is craving takeout, one of her favorite options is Manila Resto in downtown Oshkosh. e Algoma Boulevard eatery specializes in Filipino cuisine with a "melting pot of influences" that include Chinese, Japanese and Mexican. It's open for delivery and curbside pickup from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Owner Marlo Ambas says the unusual time has given the restaurant a chance to reach new people. With many Chinese restaurants closed for now, more people are turning to Manila Resto as an option for getting their Asian cuisine fix. "It's been good exposure for us ... being able to educate people a little more about what we are," he says. Customer favorites include Pancit, a Filipino noodle dish that's available in three varieties; the Crispy Pata, a marinated, fried pork shank; and Curry, available with chicken, seafood, vegetables or tofu. And when it's safe for people to gather once again, Albright recommends visiting Manila Resto for a Boodle Fight, a feast for large groups that includes a variety of dishes served over banana leaves, oen over a bed of rice. — Jessica Thiel • S P E C I A L C OV E R A G E • C O V I D - 1 9
